Randi and Michael are two friends from NYC who decided to embark on a multi-year journey throughout Central America, Europe, and Asia in 2014. Now, they live out of their backpacks and travel on a budget full time.
Just a Pack was created to inspire others to travel long term and give them the information and tools to do so no matter how big or small their budget.
Just a Pack believes in responsible travel and is dedicated to promoting organizations and efforts around the globe that are committed to giving back and making a difference in their local communities.
Randi is a wanderer. She has moved over 20 times in her life and aspires to never have a mortgage or own anything she can’t replace for under $100. She is a vegan, loves to cook, and is happiest when lying on a beach in some foreign country. By some stroke of good luck Randi has had her written work featured in publications like The Huffington Post and Marie Claire. She also has a background in marketing, studied culinary arts, and is a Certified Health Coach.
Michael was born in Poland and raised in Brooklyn and the Bronx. He started backpacking five years ago, and has thought of doing little else since. Once an employee of the New York Post, and then a LMT specializing in physical rehabilitation, Michael is now a full time nomad. He’s spent many months exploring over 40 countries in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. One day he hopes to visit Saturn…but only if he can bring his backpack.
How it all Started
It’s a story you’ve heard a million times. Boy meets girl on dating website OkCupid. They go out a few times. Decide a romantic relationship isn’t in the cards. Jump out of an airplane together. Pack their bags, quit their jobs, and board a flight to Mexico. Start a website, travel together for over two years, build a stronger friendship than ever expected. The rest is history…in the making.
